What is PM KUSUM Yojana in Rajasthan?

PM KUSUM Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) is a Central Sector Scheme launched by the Government of India in 2019 to promote the use of solar energy in the agriculture sector. The scheme has four components:

* **Solarisation of Pumpsets (Component-A):** Under this component, farmers can install solar pumps to replace their existing diesel or electric pumps. The government provides a subsidy of up to 60% of the cost of the solar pump.

* **Restructured Solar Agriculture Pumping Scheme (Component-B):** Under this component, farmers can replace their old, inefficient solar pumps with new, more efficient pumps. The government provides a subsidy of up to 50% of the cost of the new pump.

* **Saur Krishi Pump Yojana (Component-C):** Under this component, the government will set up solar-powered agriculture feeders in rural areas. This will help to improve the reliability and quality of power supply to farmers.

* **Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFC) Solarisation (Component-D):** Under this component, solar panels will be installed on the roofs of buildings and other structures along the dedicated freight corridors. This will help to reduce the dependence on conventional sources of energy and improve the efficiency of the DFCs.

The Rajasthan government has also launched its own version of the PM-KUSUM scheme, called the **Rajasthan KUSUM Yojana**. The scheme provides the same benefits as the PM-KUSUM scheme, but with a higher subsidy of up to 75% for solar pumps under Component-A.
